Donna came over to play with Miles tonight, and she showed me this from The Kitchy Kitchen, and I flipped out. The lighting is so good, the type is good, the music is good, the food looks gorgeous.

I need to convince Micah to do a film like this with me. Wouldn’t Dana be perfect for that last bit? Otherwise I’m just gonna have to steal his camera and girlfriend.

Today was the last of my 10-week baking class. We made puff pastries: croissants, chocolate croissants, and apple turnover.
Everyone got a little diploma. We’ve got a lot of off time today, while waiting around for the pastries to proof, before baking, and I got to know a few of my classmates better. I found out that one of them, she and her husband hanymooned in Indonesia for a week, they visitied the comodo dragon island! They have comodo dragon just walking around, all over the place. Sick! The other one, she traveled all over Indo, on a 500 day trip, when she was young. She’s been to more Indonesian islands than I have. What do you know?
We exchanged emails, I hope I can keep my word of keeping in touch.

So, this is a project 3 years in the making. But I’ve finally gone through every single food photos I’ve taken since I started doing this back in 2008. For the longest time, all these photos are just sitting in my computer, collecting dust, and I’ve just been too lazy to go through them and do anything with them.
But, early last week Micah’s computer suddenly crashed, and that was sort of a wake up call for me. I’ve been meaning to go through and edit my food photos since the beginning of this year (it might have been a new year’s resolution), so I’ve been stalling on baking up my computer, until after I cut down on the humungous photo library that I have.
Well, all that is to say that, I’ve finally done it! In the past week I’ve literally gone through and edited thousands of photos. And the result: a collection of 523 photos, of all the food I’ve taken pictures of. Check it out!
My goal is to update this photo set more regularly, instead of every 3 years. So keep an eye on it. I also want to at some point post the actual recipes of all the food.

Disasters. But still somewhat delicious.

Last Saturday I wanted to make these Sugar Puffs for margarita night at Teri’s, but it defiinitely did not come out right. I had no idea why it didn’t come out right, I followed the recipe carefully, but my batter was way too thin. I will get to the bottom of this.

I also made vegan lemon sugar cookies, for Amber. It’s got tofu in it… ya it doesn’t taste that awesome, it’s not bad, but I agree with Julia, butter, butter, butter!!! There’s no such thing as too much butter.

On an unrelated note, I stayed over at Teri’s after the margaritas, like I always do every time I come over, they’re nice enough to let me crash every time, since they don’t want me to bike to k-town at night. The next morning when we were having brunch at this little cafe near their house, I had my first true celebrity sighting, since I’ve been living in LA. Sacha Baron Cohen was sitting at the table behind us. He seems really normal. Surprisingly.
