Operation Macarons… success!

I’ve been obesessing over Macarons over the past few weeks, and I finally get a chance to give it a try. It’s not perfect, but definitely better than I expected. I did very extensive reasearch, compared to what I do normally, I looked up many different ones, and read about common mistakes (over beaten batter, etc), and in the end decided to use David Lebovitz’s recipe, cause it’s the simplest one, and sounds the most delicious, it’s chocolate!

I think my biggest challenge was the piping, I really suck at it. I need to find a better tool for doing it, cause that’s what’s making some of them to look funky (they have little peaks, instead of rounded tops).

They baked fine, they even have those little feet on the bottom. I was so excited to see those little feet.

But the most important part: they taste good! I made some with chocolote ganache filling and some with mascarpone cheese (this one I just improvised, cause I happened to have some, and turned out awesome!)

And this morning I had them for breakfast, along with yogurt and some fruits. Now that’s breakfast for the champion in my book.
