What the heck is up with Caroline?
If you notice the past few months I’ve been completely neglecting to tumble, the blog has practically turned into an Instagram feed. Well, things have been a bit crazy. If you can’t tell from the Instagram bits and snippets here’s what I’ve been up to…
I sold most of my stuff, packed up the rest, and moved from LA to NYC.

I started working for OkCupid. It’s true, see I’ve got the sweatshirt to prove it.

I moved into a new apartment in the UES, very very slowly.

I finally used the Le Creuset dutch oven I got from my secret santa over at the OkOffice. I made mushroom bourguignon.

I got some furniture for my house, they’re made in the 1970’s.

I’ve made way too many trips to IKEA, Home Depot, and Target. But I tell myself it’s worth it. I’ve been here for 3 weeks now, and most of my stuff is still in boxes. You see, the problem is all those boxes are filled with books, and I can’t start unpacking them until I’ve got shelves.

So I invested in some (wo)man tools (aka. a power drill!), and I’m starting a project, since between work and moving in, I clearly don’t have enough to do. I’m putting together my own wall shelves, because my apartment has a ridiculous amount of wall space (all of 10’ high), but no floor space. So the books are going on the wall, and that’s that.
This is the sketch.

This is the inspiration

This is where I’m planning to put up the shelves.

See, I have plans… I made a drawing, what could possibly go wrong?
Finally, today I got this package from my friend Romina from Mexico. I love it! She made her own paper, by the way, seriously! Just the sort of things she does. The little llama she bought from a shop in Oaxaca, where she lives now.

And that is what I’ve been up to. I’ll try to update more, but for now I must hit the hay, since I have to wake up early for work. Good night!
